Welcome to the website for Lydbrook Band; a Championship Band based in the heart of the Royal Forest of Dean. We hope you will find all the information you need here and enjoy keeping up to date with the band's activities.
The music you are listening to is the march Ruardean written by J. Ord. Hume in 1930. This recording is by the Lydbrook Band, conductor Brian Howard and was recorded at Dene Magna School on the 24th and 25th July 1993 to celebrate the band's 70th anniversary.
We are holding a major event this year to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee at The Speech House raising funds to replace old instruments for the band and Training Band.

Lydbrook "do the double"!
With wins at the Gloucester Brass Band Association contest and also the Wessex Brass Band Association contest, Lydbrook have had one of the most successful fortnights in the band's history. As well as emerging as the champion band on both occasions, they also came away with a total of 13 soloist and section awards; an impressive accomplishment by anyone's standards. A full write up of both contests is available in the November update and a selection of photographs are displayed in the gallery. Here's to continued success throughout 2012!
The band has been successful in its grant bid for new instruments to the Gloucestershire Community Foundation and in particular, The Midcounties Co-operative Community Fund. Read more in our latest news.
