Steve Schramm Retires
What a milestone to recognise for our trombone player, Steve Schramm, whose performance last weekend marked a 40 year association with Lydbrook Band. Sadly, Steve has decided to retire from competitive banding and he will be greatly missed by the entire Lydbrook family. Steve has had an impressive banding career but has always had Lydbrook at his heart with many great friendships formed over the years and an abundance of memories created. We would like to thank Steve for his commitment and contributions over the years both as a truly fantastic trombone player as well as being a simply wonderful human being. Whilst this formally recognises Steve’s “retirement”, we are sure that this won’t be a complete end and we hope to see him with us from time to time in the future.
Sadly our area performance didn’t bring about the result we hoped for but, irrespective of this, we were proud of our performance and would like to say a special thank you to our conductor, Dave Barringer, who has pushed and encouraged us to be the best we can be over recent months. Congratulations to the prize winners and, for Lydbrook, our attention now turns to preparation for the Spring Festival!
